By personal data is meant any kind of data by which a person can be identified: name, first name, email address, data from the bulletin (CNP, series, number, address), telephone, image (avatar), IP address/ MAC, medical data, biometric data, sexual orientation, religion, political beliefs, race, etc.

 

We will detail, below, how we collect personal data, what we collect and for what purpose, as well as the rights that you, the user of this website, have regarding them.

Protection of your data

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure its correct use, we implement reasonable and appropriate physical, IT and organizational security measures to effectively protect all personal data we collect/store/process.

 

In order to improve the measures outlined in the current Privacy Policy, we constantly make every effort to ensure that the data is correct, complete, current and relevant for the intended use. We reserve the right to make changes to this document, and if they are significant, they will be found in this section of the website, which we will update in due course.

Data sharing

debateX is a joint venture developed by the EDUKON Group – a group of companies and organizations that carry out projects in the educational area and specifically promote debates as an educational tool for developing critical thinking skills, argumentation and public expression. 

 

We have not sold, do not sell and will never sell the collected data to third parties. Given the nature of the group's activity and its organization, the entities that have access to certain data of the users of this website may be:

Those data about users of this site to which third parties have access are aggregated and anonymized (so users cannot be identified). In the special cases where any of the entities request data in another form, we make sure that we ask for the dedicated consent of the users to share it and that we enter into contracts with those entities that contain confidentiality clauses.

If we are obliged by a normative act (law, statute, regulation, decision), ordinance or court decision to disclose personal data, compliance will be carried out without the information or consent of the person concerned.

The purpose of the requested data

Through the forms on the websitedebatex.ro we only ask you for the data necessary for the activity for which we collect them (i.e. enrollment in one of the courses we organize) and we only use them if we have received your explicit consent. Below we detail, however, what they are and what they are used for:

 

  • Email address: to keep you informed about the activities and programs we carry out and to send you information necessary to run the courses you have signed up for or told us you are interested in;

  • First name and last name: to create attendance lists and verify participants in our courses;

  • Telephone number: to be able to contact you quickly, if you participate in our courses, for the purpose of informing you about their venues or last-minute changes in their schedule;

  • Name of the school and class: we use this data to determine the composition of the groups;

  • Date of birth: to personalize the experience you are about to have in one of our courses;

  • Where did you hear about us, the city you live in: to have a better understanding of the people interested in the work we do in order to more effectively promote our programs and projects.

 

Our website also collects the following categories of data:

  • IP/browser/device: to determine how you use our website, the purpose being to make the necessary changes to make the information more easily accessible;

We do NOT collect data considered sensitive/special (including: information relating to race or ethnicity, political opinions, religion, trade union membership, health, sexual preferences or criminal record).

User rights

  • the right to information: the right to receive details regarding the processing activities carried out by the organization, as described in this document;

  • the right to rectification: the right to obtain the correction, without justified delay, by DebateX representatives of inaccurate/unjustified personal data, as well as the completion of incomplete data; The correction/completion will be communicated to each recipient to whom the data were sent, unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate efforts.

  • the right to data deletion*, without undue delay, ("the right to be forgotten"): if one of the following reasons applies:

    • they are no longer necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected or processed;

    • if consent is withdrawn and there is no other legal basis for processing;

    • if the data subject objects to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate reasons;

    • if the personal data were processed illegally;

    • if personal data must be deleted to comply with a legal obligation;

    • personal data were collected in connection with the provision of information society services according to Union law or the internal law under which the operator is

*it is possible that, following the data deletion request, the organization will anonymize this data (thereby depersonalizing it) and continue processing for statistical purposes under these conditions.

  • the right to restrict processing to the extent that:

    • the person contests the accuracy of the data, for a period that allows us to verify the correctness of the data;

    • the processing is illegal and the data subject objects to the deletion of personal data, requesting instead the restriction of their use;

    • the operator no longer needs the personal data for the purpose of processing, but the data subject requests them for establishing, exercising or defending a right in court; or

    • the data subject has objected to the processing (other than those for direct marketing), for the time interval in which it is verified whether the legitimate rights of the operator prevail over those of the data subject.

  • the right to data portability: 

    • the right to receive personal data in a structured, commonly used and readable format

    • the right for this data to be transmitted by the organization to another data operator, to the extent that the conditions provided for by law are met;

  • the right to opposition – with regard to processing activities can be exercised by submitting a request as indicated below:

    • at any time, free of charge and without any justification, that the data concerning it be processed for direct marketing purposes.

  • the right not to be subject to an automated individual decision: the right not to be the subject of a decision taken solely on the basis of automated processing activities, including profiling, which produce legal effects concerning the data subject or similarly affect him in a significant measure;

  • the right to address the National Supervisory Authority for the Processing of Personal Data or the competent courts, to the extent you consider necessary.

Duration of data storage

In principle, the EDUKON Group will process your personal data as much as is necessary to achieve the processing purposes mentioned above.

 

If you are a customer, we will process your data for the entire duration of the contractual relationship and thereafter according to the legal obligations that fall under our responsibility (eg: in the case of financial and accounting supporting documents, the retention period provided by law is 10 years from the end date of the financial year during which they were drawn up).
